In July 2022, Chinese developer Ne tease published a game called Hyper Front. Like most shooting games, this title is a 5V5 mobile with a very simple system. This week, however, it has been reported that Riot Games is processing the publisher claiming that the game is a blatant copy of Valorant, its FPS title. The developer states that similarities range from weapons to character design. The process has images that compare the visuals of both games, as you can see below in a print published by the Polygon Portal. In the image, Riot Games demonstrates that Hyper Front's Nemesis character has practically the same overall concept as Valiant's character. The description even cites color similarities in the agents' armor. Although it is not possible to recover all the history of the game on iOS and Android devices, the Google Play Store records that the game has over 1 million downloads and an average of 48,000 reviews. These numbers certainly caught the attention of Riot Games, which aims to release a Valorant version for mobile devices.
To date, the process is active in the United Kingdom, Germany, azil and Singapore-Locais regions where the Hyper Front game is available. Dan Label, Riot Games lawyer, told the Polygon Portal that, despite the variations of law of each territory, the core of the issue remains treated the same way anywhere. After the process began, Ne tease would have changed some specific parts of the game so as not to make it so similar to Valorant. For the League of Legends company, however, the issue goes beyond similar visuals. The goal of Riot Games is therefore to force Ne tease to completely remove the Hyper Front game from the air-in all regions. Also, according to Label, the matter is being dealt with in different courts so that the developer accused of plagiarism understands that the situation is 'far beyond' from a single market problem.
