In December of this year, Valve delivers the first specimens of the new handheld Steam Deck to those pre-orderers, which have secured their specimen at an early stage in the store. All others are probably only after the second quarter 2022. Although the manufacturer has already published a lot of information, many interested people continue to have some questions. To clarify them too satisfactory, there is an interesting FAQ section on the official website.
Among other things, Valve realizes that it will be possible to use multiple accounts on the same steam deck while having local settings and memory data. There is also an option to use such game on the Steam Deck via Proton, which are not offered and distributed on Steam. Also interesting are the statements about the screen of the different models of the handheld. Accordingly, all versions with a glass display (IPS-LCD with Optical Bonding) are equipped, but only the screen at the 512 GB model is additionally anti-reflective.
Steam deck soon also in the trade?
Furthermore, the FAQ section also focuses on whether Steam Deck will continue to buy in the retail trade in the future. According to Valve, this is not planned first because the focus is solely on the exclusive distribution via Steam. However, the manufacturer does not categorically exclude such a step for the future when Steam Deck goes to the sale in other regions.
In addition, Valve realizes again that for games with the Steam Deck does not necessarily require an internet connection - unless the game requires itself. Only for the download you have to be online.
