Valve is currently preparing the sending of the first developer kits of the Steam Deck. In an update, those responsible have revealed that this is a limited number of DEV kits, the selected partners will receive in the next few days. With this step, Valve wants to collect the developer s feedback that now optimize and deploy your games for the Steam Deck.
The data obtained is then used for the further development process of the hardware. According to Valve, the Steam Deck is already in the final stage of development. The delivered DEV kits are also functionally identical with the devices that players will receive at the end of the year. All pre-orderers who have secured their specimen in time in the store will receive their steam deck in December. At the moment the handheld is completely sold out completely. New orders are expected to be possible probably only after the second quarter of 2022. In mid-July 2021, the Steam Deck was revealed by Valve.
